At FAB, we believe it is so important to get the knowledge and confidence for breastfeeding before your baby is born! Knowing what to expect can make the hard days a little easier. We offer multiple ways to get antenatal support with us:
Online Antenatal Course – Our course offers evidence-based information about bonding with your bump, breastfeeding, and what to expect in the early days. It includes videos demonstrating different breastfeeding positions, hand expression, and short quizzes. We hope it will make life with a new baby a little easier! Find it here!
Face-to-face Antenatal Classes – These classes are a 6-week course that either runs on a Wednesday evening or Sunday morning. They are a great tool for expectant families who want to meet other parents-to-be and prepare for baby, birth and breastfeeding! Face-to-face antenatal group sessions are available on a booking basis – please email antenatal@familiesandbabies.org.uk for more info on dates, times and with any other questions you may have about the classes!
Antenatal one-to-ones – We offer individual antenatal sessions to discuss breastfeeding and to answer any questions before baby arrives. These can take place at your home or at our base, depending where you feel most comfortable and what is convenient for you. One-to-ones are available on a booking basis – please call our helpline on 01924 851901 to speak to a member of our admin team who can book you in!
24 hour helpline – Our 24-hour helpline is available to offer antenatal and postnatal support and information to mums over the phone. Remember – no question is a silly question!
Breastfeeding Groups – We love to see expectant mums at our local breastfeeding groups where they can receive information and get support with their decision to breastfeed.
